Course Aims

The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive, evidence based introduction to family centred developmental care that will help you to evaluate and identify goals for your continuing development

Who Should Attend

The course is designed for clinicians working with hospitalised preterm and newborn infants in neonatal units, and also in transitional care and paediatric units for example.

  • Healthcare Assistants

We recommend that more than one person per unit attends (preferably multidisciplinary) to maximise potential for change in practice.

Future Courses in Neonatal Developmental Care

A follow on programme designed to improve practical skills in developmental care is planned for 2018. This course will aim to advance practice through observation, activity analysis, case studies and reflective practice. It will combine study days and self-directed study in the clinical setting
