The "Fundamentals of Travel Health in the General Practice Setting" course is delivered in two part over 5 weeks.
The course is delivered in two parts.
Part one: is 9 modules delivered via a dedicated mobile learning platform over 4 weeks ( 2 per week). Each module contains 2, 3 or 4 bite-size lessons. AND
Part Two: consists of a half-day interactive zoom meeting and includes an interactive session focusing on
Yellow Fever Vaccine, Less Common Travel Vaccines, Pre-Travel Risk Assessment, Vaccine Planning & Case Studies, group work with opportunity for Q & A at the end. A series of "Rapid Refresh Quiz" are assigned during the first four weeks via the mLearning App and Post Course evaluation following the Zoom session. Attendance at the zoom meeting is essential.
Part One must complete One prior to the Zoom session.
The course was recognised by ICGP in January 2024 and approved this course for 9 CPD External Credits on completion of Parts One & Two.
NMBI re-awarded Category One status on 28th august 2023, increasing approval to 10 Continuing Education Units (CEU) .
Course Requirements:
All participants must be registered with NMBI or IMC and an interest in Travel Medicine & Health. Course participants should also be familiar with HSE Guidelines for Vaccination in General Practice, Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland (RCPI) & the National Anaphylaxis Education program for Healthcare Professionals (HSELand).
