This course is aimed at women are new to riding who want to learn the basics skills and feel safe and in control on the trails. The course will help riders to build a foundation of skills helping them gain confidence and stability whilst on the trails.
Skills are broken down and practiced in a safe area, then we hit the trails and practice them for real! Riders should come away with lots of tips and tricks to take away with them to practice and develop what they’ve learned.
Intermediate riders can progress their riding by correcting any bad habits, refining their skills and gain more flow and efficiency on the trails.
What’s covered:
• BIKE CHECK Pre-ride bike check to ensure your bike is safe to ride
• BIKE SET-UP A run through the basics of bike set-up including tyre pressures, saddle height, handle bar position.
• BASIC BIKE MAINTENANCE A run through how to clean your bike and keep it running well
• BODY POSITION Learn how basic body positioning can help you to maintain control and balance on the trails
• CORNERING How to maintain grip and control through position, line choice and braking
• DESCENDING Keep in control with maximum grip whilst descending
• BRAKING Learn where to brake and where to let the bike flow
• BUNNY HOP BASICS & TRACKSTANDS We break down these skills and have fun doing it!
*Participants will need a mountain bike in perfect working order with disk brakes.
*Beginners must have ridden mountain bike trails in the last year
