Vivancos is a contemporary Catalan composer who lives and works in Barcelona. He has written extensively for choirs and his music is equally user-friendly for performers and listeners.
The percussion players are divided in four and placed behind the choir, at the other end of the church, and either side at the middle; the sound of the bells moving around the acoustic is magical in a live performance, but, inevitably, the effect is not represented meaningfully in recordings.
Colin McLean will almost certainly feature pieces by Granados, Albéniz and Tárrega.
