Event description
A 5 Week Idea to 10 page short Film Lab.

About this Event

Get It Made is a page to Screen workshop in which you will write a 10 page short script and complete a draft funding package. A hands on, results driven series which will assist with the mechanics of getting a narrative together in ten pages or less.

Producer/Director Colin McKeown has made over 30 short films and worked for agencies as an Executive producer commissioning films and developing new talent. His work has garnered a BAFTA and a nomination for the Cannes Film Festival. He continues to mentor and help new entrants with the first steps in their careers.

Colin has contributed to a number of Award winning projects in various roles. The latest of which is in a script capacity on "Ordinary Love" https://www.tiff.net/events/ordinary-love

It premiered at TIFF this week and Stars Liam Neeson and Leslie Manville.

An introductory session on Sunday the 15th September will be followed by 5 evenings weekly in which you will create and polish your Short film project package.

The sessions will help maximise the potential of your script to get shortlisted and funded. Colin will demystify the funding process and provide valuable insights into how successful shorts films actually get selected and made.

Individual sessions will examine script format, dialogue, “cinematic” scenes, editing your script and completing a funding application.

We will also create an industry networking night tailored to meet potential producers/Companies and Directors (If required) to help partner up to submit your project.

Testimonials:

“Colin has been guru, guide and co-conspirator in all our script development endeavors over the years, most recently on the feature films Good Vibrations and Ordinary Love. He excels at the delicate business of helping writers find and define their stories, due to his unfailing patience, enthusiasm and encouragement, not to mention an awe-inspiring set of story development skills.”
