A launch of the Get the Message Out campaign letting people know that there is an alternative to drug-related crime and violence.

<h2>Who are we?</h2><p>Get the message Out – There is another way is a group of community organisations that have a youth / addiction focus that were brought together by Northside Partnership following the increase in drug related crime and violence in the area. We are working together to let people know who may be involved in drug related activity that there is another way and there are supports available in the community.</p><p>In particular, we are encouraging:</p><ul><li>people to seek support should they need it</li><li>young people in the area to engage in positive community activity</li><li>people from the local community to get involved by promoting the message There is Another Way and in doing so highlighting their positive community engagement</li></ul><p></p><h2>About the Launch</h2><p>We are launching our campaign on the 13th of September.</p><p>As a result of the event, we want:</p><ul><li>people to know that there is another way and for community leaders to demonstrate their positivity</li><li>people to know that if they are involved in drug related crime or violence and have had enough of that life there are services and supports available to them</li><li>to make this campaign visible in our communities</li></ul><p></p><h2>Key Speakers at the Launch</h2><p>Deborah Morgans – Edenmore Drug Intervention Team – MC</p><p>Paul Rogers (CEO, Northside Partnership) overview of the GTMO group</p><p>Ger Redmond (Prisoner to Pro) – Discusses how it is possible to choose another way</p><p>Ruth Barry - Discussed the loss she experienced during Prison and her message to women</p><p>Prisoner from Mountjoy Prison – Discusses where their life choices have taken them</p><p>Brandon O’Connor (Homeless Services) – Supporting people to choose another way</p><p></p><p>There will also be a display of current art supporting young people to choose another way.</p><p></p><h2>What can you do?</h2><ul><li>Register for the event, so you don’t miss out!</li><li><a href="https://www.instagram.com/get_themessage_out/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Follow us on instagram @get_themessage_out</a></li><li>Like, Comment and Share our social media messages</li><li>Tag us in your any of your posts that show a positive community experience</li><li>Use #thereisanotherway #getthemessageout #GTMO</li></ul><p></p><p></p>
