About this event

In 2019, Confederation of Golf in Ireland piloted the first Junior GolfSixes Regional and National Finals in Ireland. Over 80 Clubs participated with over 2500 juniors playing GolfSixes in their club. Due to its success we have teamed up with the Golf Foundation and the R&A to run a new ‘intra-club Golf Sixes League’ (internal, within one club) competition series. This will allow juniors to enjoy the team competition and social benefits of the ‘Sixes’ format, starting in August 2020 for the remainder of the year.

Golf Ireland is the National Governing Body for golf on the island of Ireland. Established in 2020 it aims to build on over 125 years of tradition and development of its two predecessors, the GUI and the ILGU – the two oldest golfing unions in the world. Core functions of Golf Ireland include; handicapping administration, running of championships and events, overseeing a High Performance structure for emerging and professional golfers, offering a range of club services and recruitment and retention support.
