About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

We will gather together in Phoinex Park from 4.30 AM to welcome in the first rays of the sun as it shines through Phoinex Park on the 21st of June. This is the longest day of the year and a day when the sky never fully darkens. So let's look at this light, welcome it in, and soak it up for the rest of the summer.

Our morning will start with a guided meditation focusing on the light as the sun rises. Live music will be performed by Caoimhín Mac Uaid throughout the morning.

Aron Hegarty from Candlelit Tales and Fado Yoga will tell a story that moves through the practice, to help us embody the poses and fully immerse into the story on this special day.

Our Yoga Flow will be guided by Bláthnaid Ní Smaolaigh of IMBAS Yoga - as Gaeilge.

Grainstad an tSamhraidh means "Summer's sun stop".

The poses in Yoga are all based on stories in the Indian pantheon, and telling stories is in our nature on this island. To celebrate the shortest day of the year, we want to rise with the sun, and embody the powerful postures.

Join us in playfulness and joy, tar agus fáilte!
