Flame Working Class with Emma Bourke - Mayo

Date: Arrive the evening of 25th Thursday, class begins 10am Friday continuing until Sunday eve 4pm

Location: Mulranny Arts

Join us for an exciting Flame Working Class with the talented artist Emma Bourke in Mayo! This is a GSOI member class. Learn the art of creating stunning glass pieces using a torch. This in-person event at Mulranny Arts is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. Don't miss this opportunity to unlock your creativity and develop a new skill in the art of lampworked glass in an immersive workshop.

Emma's teaching will be complimented by Cheryl Browne owner of Mulranny arts. She will instruct on beadmaking and pattern forming on a small scale at the torch. The class will be divided into two groups alternating from beadmaking skills to larger format work during the three days.


Along with expert guidance from Emma and Cheryl in the well-equipped flameworking studio, there will be time for student interaction, networking events and brainstorming ideas. The GSoI will invite all course participants to take part in the evening presentation dicussing their own work for 5 mins in an informal chat and information sharing.

Treat your creative self to a stimulating few days, building your glass skills, meeting like-minded people in the stunning location of Mulranny Arts on the shores of Clew Bay. Between classes, recharge your creative batteries with inspiring walks on white sandy beaches along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Whats included?

What is the social event on Saturday evening?

This is open to class members to mingle and get to know each other. There will be an opportunity to show slides of your work and discuss your practice.

Is going to the play compulsory?

No, this is an option, it's a way of supporting the local community and offering a different artistic experience to our members, but there is no compulsion on anyone to go. The ticket price is offered to you by GSOI.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes please let us know if you have any needs in this area.

Is this for experienced members only?

No. All levels will be catered for from beginners to improvers.

How many people are in the class? Will we all have our own torch to work at?

The max number is 10 and yes you will have your own torch and bench space, with instruction from Emma assisted by Cheryl Browne the owner of the studio.
