HackDCU 2016

Over 100 students will come together on the weekend of the 4th - 6th of March in DCU for a weekend long hackathon. This event will provide a platform for students to immerse themselves in the process of moving an idea to market while making invaluable connections to Dublin’s entrepreneurial community. The winning team will be awarded a prize to the value of €1,000 plus the chance to pitch for a place on DCU’s student accelerator, UStart.

What is HackDCU?

HackDCU is an intense 3 day event during which teams of young leaders, designers, developers, and innovators will come together to create a feasible business which solves an entrepreneurship challenge. With the guidance of experienced mentors the hackathon will encourage participants to ideate, design, build, launch and create solutions, culminating in a pitch competition, where the teams will present their ideas and newly built products to an expert panel.

Who should get involved?

This event is for current students. Event participants will represent a broad range of backgrounds and skills (sales, design, software coding, etc.) to ensure the best possible skills mix and sharing of expertise. You will add value even if your not in a registration category below. If in doubt register as "Other - None of the above but interested in the hackathon" or contact us to find out more!

Weekend Overview:

Friday: Planning what you are going to do for the weekend

Saturday: Building/designing your "hack"

Sunday: Finishing what you are building & pitch it to the Judges!

Prize:

Awarded to the value of €1,000 plus a chance to pitch for a place on UStart – DCU’s student accelerator.
