Join us in celebration of World Oceans Day as we come together for transformative collaboration towards a healthier blue planet and a more just, equitable, and sustainable society. Climate Ambassador, in partnership with Clean Coasts, is hosting an event to explore the importance and role of our local marine environment, including its Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and Special Areas of Conservation (SACs).
What to Expect:
- Time: 12 to 3pm
- Jim Hurley: Dive into the heritage value of the South Wexford Coast with a captivating talk by Jim Hurley, an expert from South Wexford Coast.
- Clean Up: Join forces with the Clean Coasts team for a shoreline activity, contributing to the preservation of our coastal ecosystems.
- Refreshments: Light refreshments & snacks will be provided on-site to keep you energized throughout and after the event.
Who Can Attend:
This is a public event, so bring along your family and friends for a day of learning and action.
What to Bring:
We encourage you to bring your reusable coffee cup and water bottle to minimize waste.
Transportation:
Complimentary transfers will be available from the nearest train station, Waterford Plunket, making it convenient for everyone to join in. If you find yourself unable to attend after booking, please cancel your reservation on Eventbrite or notify us via email at caw@eeu.antaise.org. By doing so, you'll not only free up space for someone else to participate but also help reduce food waste by ensuring we prepare the right amount of refreshments for attendees.
Where to Meet:
Look for us at the Baginbun beach carpark beside the Wexford Trail signpost. Our team will be wearing high-visibility vests, making it easy to spot us.
