Are you currently hosting displaced Ukrainians or thinking of becoming a host?

In collaboration with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, we're bringing together anyone who is currently hosting or considering signing up to host for an evening of celebration and support of the community response in welcoming those fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Join us alongside our partners and local experts at Dún Laoghaire County Hall for an interactive evening aimed at empowering hosts and their Ukrainian guests with the support, information and resources they need for a successful and sustainable hosting experience. You'll hear from various support organisations and learn about the services available to assist Ukrainians guests with integrating into life in Ireland.

The event is taking place during Refugee Week, a celebration of the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary in Ireland. It will be a chance to meet others hosting or supporting refugees locally, exchange stories and hear performances by some fantastic Ukrainian artists.

During the event, you'll get a chance to:

- Hear what we've learned after 2 years of hosting

- Get support for you or your guest(s) at any stage of the hosting journey - from moving in to moving on!

- Connect with other hosts in your community and share experiences

- Meet local support organisations that can support your guests with integration into the community

- If you're considering becoming a host, find out how it all works and get your questions answered

- Discover how you can get involved in the community response to supporting refugees

- Hear music and performances by some wonderful Ukrainian artists

Helping Irish Hosts arose in direct response to the Ukraine crisis, to empower and support individuals and communities in Ireland to host displaced Ukrainians in their homes, safely and sustainably. We’ve facilitated matches for over 2,500 Ukrainians in more than 1,100 homes, created a vibrant, trusted support network for hosts and present a strong voice in advocacy for hosts at all levels. We are hosts, helping hosts.

We're going around the country with our Host Roadshow to celebrate the local community response, recognise existing hosts, recruit new ones and make sure everyone feels confident and supported in their hosting journey.

The Host Roadshow series is supported by The One Foundation, The Community Foundation, The Shapiro Foundation, Choose Love, The Irish Red Cross and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.
