Event Information
Description
A FIRST FOR IRELAND AND INTRODUCED BY THE COMPOSER
IRISH PREMIÈRE OF HOWARD GOODALL’S
INVICTUS: A PASSION.
Famous for composing music for such TV series as Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder and Mr. Bean, as well as 20 Classical works and more than 15 Choral works, Howard Goodall has composed this magnificent oratorio for our time, which poignantly relates the story of the Passion as seen through the eyes of women.
It reflects musically on what this story has to tell us in the times we live in, emphasising the human capacity for love and humility in the face of tyranny. This Première uses familiar poetry and narrative set within a contemporary musical context.
Under the able baton of Musical Director Frank Kelly, the ConTempo Quartet and Degani Ensemble led by Alan Smale, with soloists Ross Scanlon and Sarah Power, and the combined choirs of Bray Choral Society and Wicklow Choral Society, you are guaranteed an evening of catharsis and quality.
Don't miss it!
