An Túr Gloine’s stained glass pioneer The day will start with a visit and introduction to the An Túr Gloine exhibition in the National Gallery of Ireland.


Schedule for the day

9.15 Meet at the National Gallery of Ireland, Clare Street entrance.

Introduction to An Túr Gloine exhibition in Room 11

10.30 Depart by coach from Clare Street

1 Arrive Loughrea

1-2pm Lunch in Loughrea Hotel and Spa is included.

Soup, sandwiches, and coffee.

2-4pm Tour of stained-glass in St Brendan's Cathedral by Dr David Caron.

Time in Cathedral to view other arts and crafts work.

Visit to nearby Carmelite Church, which contains stained glass by Harry Clarke Studios and Phyllis Burke. Time permitting.

4 Depart Loughrea

6.30 Arrive back to Merrion Square.

Note meeting time at NGI is 9:15.

Members are welcome to make their own way to Loughrea and join us for lunch and the tour.
