What's happening?
📝 Over a practical two hour session [including a coffee break ☕] we want to gather those who are supporting young people who are seeking asylum or have refugee status in Ireland between the ages of 14-25.
Overview:
- Brief overview of the Wavelength project, and how it can support young people accessing Gaisce
- Hear directly from young people who are undertaking their Gaisce Award as part of the Wavelength project, as they explore the benefits of the Gaisce framework as a non-formal programme and the challenges experienced in pursuing their Awards
- Inputs from a number of current President's Award Leaders (PALs) regarding their mentorship of young people - what challenges they faced, benefits of the Gaisce to participants, troubleshooting the impacts of Covid-19
- Participate in a short breakout session to talk about the morning's discussions and challenges faced when supporting young people who are seeking asylum or have refugee status.
