IFCA Regional Consultation

The Irish Foster Care Association would like to invite you to the Regional Consultation on IFCA’s Structure in Kilkenny.

Last year the Board of IFCA decided to commission a Structural Review of the organisation to ensure that our structures meet the needs of all of our members as IFCA continues to grow and develop. The branch structure of IFCA has remained unchanged since the development of the Association in 1981 and while the structure has served its members well in the past, the reduction in the number of branches and regions nationally, and the difficulty in attracting volunteer officers is not facilitating the support of all IFCA members. The objective of the structure review is to ascertain the needs of IFCA members and identify what structure can best serve their needs.

A key part of the Structural Review process will be consultations with members and volunteer across all levels of the organisation because it’s vital that IFCA hears the thoughts and views from our volunteers who are doing the work of the association and our members, in order to ensure that IFCA is organised in a way that best meets the needs of its members.
