Technical Session Title: “Behind the Standards: The History and Future of Technical Assessments”

David Cooper – Director of Product Evaluation, Appraise Fire Engineering

David Cooper is a Chartered Building Engineer with the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CBuildE MCABE) with over 25 years’ experience in fire engineering and product evaluation. He heads a team of fire engineers applying the principles of fire safety engineering to materials analysis, fire testing, design appraisal, interpretation of fire test results and fire safety design of products, systems and buildings. David is an active supporter and participant in cross industry bodies and trade association as well as an active member of various Standards committees for Fire Resistance and Reaction to Fire, including the group drafting the new British Standard on assessments, which will replace the PFPF Guide to technical assessment, which he assisted in the development.
