Prim's Bookshop are delighted to present Il Sogno Del Marinaio, a project featuring Mike Watt in what will be their only Cork show. Tickets are limited, so be sure to pick them up early.

Mike Watt is a bassist, composer and performer whose home is San Pedro, California. He is widely celebrated for his innovative and influential contributions to punk rock and for his distinctive playing style and fearless experimentation. Watt is best known for co-founding the rock bands Minutemen, Dos, and fIREHOSE, as well as becoming the bassist for the reunited Stooges from 2003 to 2016.
He has staggering number of albums and collaborations with the likes of Nels Cline, J Mascis, Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Porno For Pyros and Dave Grohl. CMJ New Music called Watt a seminal post-punk bass player and in 2008 Watt received the Bass Player Magazine lifetime achievement award, presented by Flea from Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Il Sogno Del Marinaio, which means “the sailor’s dream”, finds Watt teaming up once again with Italians Andrea Belfi and Stefano Pilia, a drummer and guitarist. Musically,Il Sogno are a blend of jazz innuendos, post-rockish soundscapes, lo fi and good old rock’n’roll.
An extension for longtime fans of Mike Watt, it is yet another fascinating project from this absolute titan of bass.
