Inspirefest 2017 Salon Series - New York

Europe's leading sci-tech event, Inspirefest is going on the road. After sell-out Munich, Paris and London gatherings, next stop is New York where we are teaming up with the Irish International Business Network (IIBN)! Come meet the team, hear from Inspirefest speakers past and future, and get a sneak preview ahead of our annual conference and festival in Dublin, July 2017.
Our fourth Salon takes place at White and Williams in New York's Times Square Tower. Science, tech, arts, design and business professionals are invited to join us for a relaxed and sociable evening with tasty canapés and refreshments served.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear about the Leadership & Executive Acceleration Program (LEAP)™, a professional development and leadership program designed for Irish and Irish-American women living in the Greater New York/Tri-State area.

Guest speakers include award-winning Inspirefest founder Ann O’Dea (Dublin), entrepreneur, investor and author of Build Your Dream Network Kelly Hoey (NY), Domhnaill Hernon, Bell Labs, Monica Parker, HATCH Analytics and Smigin founder Susan O'Brien (NY), all whom feature at Inspirefest 2017 in July.

Ann O'Dea is co-founder of Silicon Republic, the award-winning online news service for all things science, technology and innovation, and founder of Inspirefest, the unique science, technology, design and arts festival that celebrates diversity and inclusion in STEM every summer in Dublin. She has won multiple awards for her role in championing women and minorites, including a Fellowship from the Irish Computer Society, Irish Tatler's ‘Media Woman of the Year’, and the Women Mean Business award for Empowering Women. She is the first woman to be inducted into the Irish Internet Association’s Hall of Fame.
Domhnaill Hernon is Head of Innovation Incubation and global lead for Experiments in Arts and Technology (E.A.T.) at Nokia Bell Labs. He graduated with a B.Eng in Aeronautical Engineering and a Ph.D in fundamental fluid mechanics from the University of Limerick and an Executive M.B.A. from Dublin City University, Ireland. Domhnaill is currently based in New Jersey at the headquarters of Bell Labs research. He is passionate about turning research into reality and exploring the bounds of creativity to push the limits of technology.
Kelly Hoey (MC) is the author of Build your Dream Network, speaker and investor. As a connector, and networking expert, Kelly has been lauded from Forbes (“1 of 5 Women Changing the World of VC/Entrepreneurship”) to Fast Company (“25 Smartest Women On Twitter”). She has a column on Inc.com, blogs on myturnstone.com and tweets frequently (@).
Susan O’Brien (LEAP) is the founder of Smigin, a language learning company based out of NYC, with users in over 175 countries. Susan has held executive positions in both public and private companies in the USA and Europe. Her knowledge of the technology startup world, of what it takes to build a company from scratch and her ability to tell that story has seen Susan’s work published in the US and in Ireland, and she is a contributing writer to the Huffington Post. She is Co-Chair of the Irish International Business Network, NYC and Executive Director of LEAP.
Monica Parker is the founder of HATCH Analytics. Monica brings to the table a vast knowledge of navigating and communicating organisational change. An international speaker and presenter, she is a regular blogger for the Huffington Post and has appeared on BBC Worldwide as an authority on workplace strategy. Monica studied design at the University of Miami and received her MSc (Distinction) in Sustainable Management from Queens University Belfast with a specialism in predictive behaviour in the workplace. Previous clients have include most of the FTSE 100. As well as hyper-growth tech such as LinkedIn Goggle and Microsoft. Her role at HATCH is to help clients challenge their notion of the status quo, and see the performance benefits of workplace transformation.
