A public lecture presented by Michèle Mendelssohn author of Making Oscar Wilde followed by audience Q&A, hosted by Vice-Provost Chris Morash and organised by Trinity College Library.
Michèle Mendelssohn is a literary critic and cultural historian. She is Associate Professor of English Literature at Oxford University.
Michèle’s years of research enable her to recreate a spectacular panorama played out on both sides of the Atlantic, painting a vivid picture of sensation-hungry journalists, showmen, and popular entertainers alongside racial controversies, sex scandals, and the rising power of Irish nationalism.
