ISA are delighted to announce a new ‘ISAYiT! Transition to Secondary’ group for 6th class students who stammer. The 6th class students will participate in 4 online sessions from May to September.
Thursday 23rd May - 6pm
Thursday 13th June - 6pm
Thursday 29th August - 6pm
Thursday 26th September - 6pm
The students will have the space to explore their knowledge and feelings about stammering and their transition to secondary school as a group. The group will help the students to feel prepared and confident, ready for their first day at their new secondary school. They will make new friends and have an opportunity to share their experiences with peers who are at the same stage as themselves.
We will cover a range of topics and activities including;
self-advocating,
how to tell new friends and teachers about having a stammer,
communication skills,
team working,
problem solving and
confidence-building.
As places are limited, places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. We kindly ask that your child is able to participate in all 4 sessions to gain the full benefit of this programme.
