Keynote Speakers

Stephen Pickering

Stephen is a course leader in primary and outfoor education and senior leader in education at the University of Worcester, England.. He is a qualified Earth Education leader and Forest School Leader (L.3). He is a consultant for the Geographical Association, sits on the editorial board of Primary Geography and is a Fellow of the RSA and HEA. Stephen has written widely on education and outdoor learning, most recently in Willy, T. (2019) Leading Primary Geography, Sheffield Geographical Association; Cremin, T. and Burnett, C. (2018) Learning to Teach in the Primary School, Abingdon, Routledge and Pickering, S. (2017) Teaching Outfoors Creatively, Abingdon, Routledge.


Anita McKeown

Dr Anita McKeown is an award-winning interdisciplinary artist, curator, researcher, and educator, that uses a range of strategic tactics; situated arts practice, publication and education to co-create locally-scale interventions that are context-responsive and ecologically sensitive. Her current work is focused on arts-led community engagement and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) education within two locations; the Iveragh Peninsula, and an EPA funded research project www.codesres.ie and in Northern New Mexico developing STEAM curriculum as lead artist for the Beautiful Midden project, for a water conservation organization, Amigos Bravos.
