It’s been over four years since a follow up to debut Kilkelly album, ‘The Prick & The Petal’, was released at this beautiful church – so it’s a fitting space to debut the first single, ‘Dogbite’ off new album ‘Solip’ be released later this year.
Kilkelly will be joined by a full band on the night, who will debut a whole set of new songs from ‘Solip’, before they carry on their “Church Tour of Germany”, playing Leipzig & Cologne churches as part of Zeitgeist Irland 24, an initiative of Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Germany.
Kilkelly & Band have been a staple of the dark folk and blues scene of Berlin since 2017. Seamlessly mixing lamentful songs, murder ballads, and lively experimental tones - honing a unique repertoire of originals, coupled with a live experience that’s garnered them a cult following in the city – equally at home backing a burlesque performance, as a choir in church, it’s the line between the light and dark, they thread so well that leaves a lasting impression.
