About this event

  • 2 hours

'Let’s Talk About Suicide' is a new, free online suicide prevention training programme from the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP).

This introductory programme helps people to develop their skills to keep others safe from suicide. It helps participants to identify people who are at risk, confidently ask about the topic of suicide and connect them with resources that can help them stay safe. The programme will also provide participants with a sense of hope and reassurance that suicide prevention is possible.

Join the HSE NOSP for this short in-person launch event, to learn more about this new programme, and suicide prevention education and training.

The event is suitable for those involved in suicide prevention - from policy, practice or community perspectives.

  • 9:30am to 10:00am – Tea, coffee and registration.
  • 10:00am to 11:30am – Launch event. The programme will be officially launched by Minister Mary Butler TD (Minister for Mental Health and Older People).
  • Registration is required.
  • Please note that the venue – the Hyatt Centric The Liberties Hotel – has very limited parking on site, and so public transport is recommended.
  • For those travelling by car, Q-Park Christchurch multi-storey car park is a short 7-minute walk to the hotel and reduced price tickets can be validated upon leaving the hotel. Alternatively, paid parking may be found on some neighbouring streets.

If you would like to complete 'Let's Talk About Suicide' in advance of this launch, visit traininghub.nosp.ie. On average, the programme will take 60 minutes to complete, but participants can work at their own pace.
