One of the major challenges for Lean/CI champions in industry is sustaining the adoption of Lean beyond the initial launch phase. It’s what happens when the ‘running’ of Lean gets absorbed into the business as usual of the firm. Responsibility and accountability lines tend to get blurred and often Lean, and its benefits get forgotten about after a while, where Lean is seen as ‘something to do’ rather than ‘how we work’. I will explain techniques and ways of working that can prevent this from happening, that talks to the cultural adoption of Lean in the organisation, rather than just deployment of tactical tools.
