Description
Learn to Code is a class for kids ages 8-12 that meets each Tuesday from 18:00 until 20:00 at the Mounttown Community Centre from April 3rd until May 1st.
Technology has a language; it’s called code.
We believe coding is an essential skill. Learning to code teaches you how to solve problems and work together in creative ways. And it helps you build apps that bring your ideas to life. We think everyone should have the opportunity to create something that can change the world.
We'll teach kids how they can be active users of computers in a fun and engaging way. We'll look at what makes a computer, and then learn a bit of their language, so that we can make them perform tasks for us, make art, and solve problems.
Using a combination of unplugged activities and coding on iPads, the students will learn the basics of code, how computers work, program robots, and explore augmented reality.
