Event description
Leslie and Flo talk about their musical careers and salute the music that was instrumental in their lives

About this Event

As the voice of In Tua Nua, Leslie paved the way for many other female singers and bands to gain success in Ireland and beyond. In Tua Nua recorded three albums and appeared at Self Aid as well as supporting Bob Dylan at Slane Castle and U2 on the European leg of their Joshua Tree Tour.

As a singer, Flo has toured extensively over the years with Moving Hearts, The Commitments, and Manchester band A Certain Ratio, with whom she recorded an album for Arista Records. Highlights as a vocalist include playing to over 30,000 people at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Festival of Song in South America.

Flo & Leslie will discuss the challenges that faced women trying to break through in the 1980's music industry in Ireland and some of the music of that time that inspired them.
