Description
Lughnasadh Sunset Tour
Join Malachy Hand and Lar Dooley on a guided sunset tour to unravel some of the facts, myths, and legends associated with Sliabh na Caillaighe - The Hill of the Witch.
Lughnasadh is a festival which traditionally marks the beginning of the harvest season. Named after Lugh a prominent god from Celtic mythology.
Around 5,500 years ago our stone age ancestors built the Loughcrew Cairns. These ancient people often aligned their monuments with major solar events such as Equinoxes and Solstices. Cairn T is visited at Autumn and Spring Equinoxes but should we be visiting another cairn at Lughnasadh?
