Have you ever walked in a volcanic crater or explored a pre-famine mountain village? Do you know about Whipping Lane or the Meeting Place? If history and beauty interest, join this circular 2.5 hour walk from Mullaghbane, through graveyards and guardhouses, massrocks and hidden villages. Set among the stunning scenery of the Ring of Gullion, the visitor will travel back in history, learning of Rapparees, the Penal Laws and Emigration, in this unique Village in South Armagh. A special borderland experience.What essentials to bring - Boots, raingear, water and suncream are essential. Suitable for families with children 6+. Terrain - mainly on tracks, boardwalk and some road. Considered easy walking. Any condition which could limit mobility should be discussed with the leader in advance.
