Visit Irelands oldest working watermill and learn all about the history of mills, flour and Martry Mill itself. We start with drinks and bread tasting on arrival, arrive 15/20 minutes early and explore the mill before the baking class at 3:15, make and bake bread with flour that is ground after you arrive at the mill. As your loaf bakes take in a tour and a milling demonstration. Learn how the river is harnessed for power, how our old eel fishery used to work and see the pre industrial revolution machinery still used today to make the best quality wholewheat flour. You will have your freshly baked loaf of brown bread to take home with you too.
