Meet the Cidermaker: The Cider Mill
Meet the Cidermaker: The Cider Mill
Join us for a visit to The Cider Mill in Slane, County Meath, to meet Mark Jenkinson who produces a signature cider, Cockagee, a perry, Piorraí, and a three-strong range of ‘revival’ ciders. Growing 120+ varieties of apple across 12 acres of an orchard in the heart of the Boyne Valley, Mark’s apples are all hand-picked.
Mark Jenkinson is the only commercial cider producer in Ireland still using the traditional and artisanal Keeved method, where nothing is added - no yeast, added sugar or water top-ups. Cockagee, his signature is named after an old Irish apple tree variety which he resurrected from believed extinction.
Join us for a visit to the Cider Mill orchard, a talk through the cidermaking process and a tasting of the ciders produced by Mark at the Cider Mill.
This Meet the Cidermaker event is part of our Meet the Maker series, proudly supported by Sheridans Cheesemongers.
