Reap the benefits of a live guided mindfulness morning retreat in the comfort and safety of your own home

About this event

In the midst of a world of uncertainty, this online retreat offers a way to connect in safety together and to serve our wellbeing as we take our next steps. Embrace the darker days by taking time to listen to your own inner nature and experience deep rest, nourishment, warmth and reflection. Where we place our attention shapes our present and future. Mindfulness and compassion practice support us to shape the mind in helpful ways.

TIme: 10 am to 2pm

Investment: €30

Join us for a series of mindfulness practices that will begin the day with energising and warming movement practices, wandering walking meditations and connecting with the beauty of taking time for natural rest.

As we each move through these next steps of living in the midst of a global pandemic, we may find ourselves sensitive and reeling from the difficulty and overwhelm of the last few months. How do we find our grounding in the midst of continued uncertainty and unknowing? How do we stay connected and safe together? How does tuning into beauty, grace and joyfulness nurture our capacity to turn to the whole of lives and its many challenges?

Practising activities of mindfulness and compassion has been a welcome refuge for many during this time. These activities can also support us in recovering from the emotional toll and strengthening our resources that may serve us in the present moment and beyond. Practising in community together offers a powerful boost to an individual practice.

We will experience a series of skilfully selected and guided mindfulness meditation exercises. We will practice grounding ourselves in our bodies, hearts and we will tend to our embodied emotions through gentle movement, stretching and walking. We will practice tending to the qualities of the heart and soothe our need for safe connection with ourselves, each other and our world right now.

Advance booking and payment is essential to secure your place.

We look forward to welcoming you this mindful morning that will service our individual and collective wellbeing.

Organiser Sheena Burke

Organiser of Mindful Morning Online Retreat

My professional background is in clinical and educational psychology.  I am a Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, with qualifications in both clinical and educational psychology. Having discovered mindfulness as a way of supporting me through a particularly difficult time in my life, I also discovered an unanticipated renewed joy and curiosity for living well. The science helps too. Knowing that there is a strong foundation of evidence base for this simple yet powerful way of being.  I continue to be grow and deepen my practice and I love sharing practices with others. Each person and group I get to work with, shows me the practical power of mindfulness practice for each of us when we stop, acknowledge and grow what naturally lies within.

I follow the good practice guidelines for teaching mindfulness and I am a certified MBSR teacher with the Mindful Academy and a .b Foundations Teacher with the Mindfulness in Schools project. I am also a member of the Mindfulness Teachers' Association of Ireland (www.mtai.ie).  I offer mindfulness training in my local community through my private practice, Discovering Mindfulness. I have introduced mindfulness training as part of my work with the School of Education, University College Dublin.
