'Missing'

'Missing'

Overview

MISSING looks at the notion of queer women's erasure from history during the rise of the far right in 1930s Europe.

What is the notion of queer erasure? How does it impact people's lives?

Three pivotal queer women whose voices and stories have been erased from history: Margaret Skinnider (she led a battalion of men in the 1916 Uprising); Bronislava Nijinska (sister to Nijinsky and seminal European choreographer in the 1920's); and Irene Polo (Catalan journalist who wrote extensively about the Spanish Civil War).

'MISSING' looks at the notion of erasure and invisibility, using these queer women's erasure from history during the rise of the far right in 1930s Europe, to look at possible global parallels between then and now.

Shifting between the historic and the current, the global and the autobiographical, Missing becomes a very personal look at the notions of invisibility and erasure.
