Performances at 12.30pm and 1.30pm each day
Listen to a wonderful selection of well-known Irish songs – gorgeous arrangements sung in Irish and English. Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile,The Lark in The Clear Air, Éilín a Rún and many more. Guaranteed to lift the spirits at lunchtime in the gardens!
Moving Voices is an exciting vocal ensemble entirely comprised of professional singers. The group performs without a conductor which facilitates a heightened sense of engagement with the audience and a wonderful sense of communication between the singers. As individuals, and also within various professional ensembles, they have performed in concert throughout Europe and as far afield as America, Brazil, China, Japan and the Lebanon. Specialising in Irish, classical and contemporary repertoire Moving Voices has thrilled audiences throughout Ireland with performances of unique arrangements of traditional Irish language melodies in addition to well-known classical and contemporary songs.
Deirdre Moynihan is the artistic director of Moving Voices. She has performed with many orchestral, choral, operatic and chamber music groups both on the International stage and throughout Ireland. She has sung as a soloist with, amongst others, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Irish Baroque Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Crash Ensemble and Con Tempo string quartet. Deirdre is the inspiration behind the Irish language choral website www.choirscan.com.
