This walk takes us on open mountain, hidden lanes and country tracks. It includes a couple of steep hills, where we will take our time to savour the countryside. Weather permitting we will have fantastic views of Carlingford Harbour and the central Cooleys

Walk Details:

Distance: 12km

Grade: Moderate to Challenging with some steep hills in places.

Terrain: Track, grass - uneven and damp in places

🎯Meet 9.45am . Walk starts 10am.

📍Start Point: Mullaghbuoy Community Centre, Castletowncooley, Riverstown, Co Louth Eircode A91 RC66 - parking here & Toilets .

Walk Time 4 Hours plus breaks.

Directions to Start: Take Exit 18 off the M1 for Carlingford on R173. Drive 13.5. Km on the R173 to Bush and leave it to the left. Go immediately left after 20m and drive 2km to a T-Junction where you go right. Drive another 1.2km to Mullaghbuoy Community Centre on your right where there is ample parking.

Minimum gear Waterproof footwear, rain gear, water and snacks.

We recommend bringing a walking pole/stick

☕️Services: Toilets available at Mullaghbuoy Community Centre on arrival and departure .

🏁On the way :Tea /coffee and toilets at Strandfield Cafe open 8am on right after exit 18 and Circle K open 9am on left after exit 18. Londis, Bellurgan open 9am on right 5km after exit 18 on R173
