Welcome to the Boyne Valley Trails September Walking Festival.

Fancy learning a new skill, meeting some amazing new people and trekking through some of the Boyne Valleys most stunning scenery? Join Martina & take part in a 30-minute taster Nordic walking class.

When completed, embark on an invigorating journey along the boardwalk towards Oldbridge house, crossing the Oblisk bridge and passing by the historic site of the Battle of the Boyne on your way to Townley hall.

Immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of the woods as you engage in a mindful walk, taking the time to truly appreciate your surroundings. Indulge in a delightful picnic before making your way back to Drogheda, accompanied by the majestic river Boyne

Please note: This is a moderate pace, 15km walk. There will be a lunch break so please remember to pack snacks.

What sort of terrain can I expect?

A mixture of terrain, tarmac and woodlands so prepare and wear comfortable footwear. There may also be some mud in the wooded areas so a clean pair of socks and dry shoes would not go amiss.

What should I bring?

We recommend preparing for the changeable Irish weather. We suggest brining warm light layers, a hat, sunglasses, suitable walking shoes or boots, water and snacks.
