About this event

  • 4 days 5 hours

North West STEM Fest takes place across 3 weeks this summer.

Ballinamore Week 1 (22nd July - 26th July)

Ballinamore Week 2 (29th July - 2nd August)

Carrigallen (22nd July - 26th July)

Dromahair (15th July - 19th July)

The activities are designed for all learners from 12 - 16, boys and girls included. The focus is not on getting deep into any one subject, instead increasing enjoyment and participation in all aspects of STEM.

All facilitators are from the locality and are either qualified teachers or trainee teachers. The gives a wealth of knowledge and insight that is priceless to all participants. It's the perfect opportunity to express themselves through a love of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

Fostering a love of learning is a key target, improving exam ability is a welcomed extra.

Note: The events Ballinamore Week 1, Carrigallen and Dromahair are repeats of last year's event, while Ballinamore, Week 2 will be completely new material so attendees from last year can enjoy another this summer too. Particpants are welcome to attend both weeks.

Note: If two siblings are attending the same event, let me know and I will arrange cashback on the day.

North West STEM Fest is a week long event, taking place in 3 different locations this summer. The goal is for the county of Leitrim to become the centre for summer learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The event itself is suitable for teens from 12 to 16 and is known for being 'The creative experience in STEM'.

Participants come from all the surrounding regions to complete novel team exercises in a safe, fun learning environment. The activities run from 10am to 3pm each day and weather dependent, on one night we will organise to go star gazing as well.

Some of the highlights from last year's event including The Duckie Bungee jump, The Leaning Tower of Chairs, A Creative Hike and much much more.
