Safeguarding 3 - Designated Liaison Person(DLP)

Safeguarding 3 - Designated Liaison Person(DLP)

A person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must have completed the Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course and should complete the NEW Designated Liaison Person 3 hour workshop. A club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions however best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles.

The CEO of Sport Ireland John Treacy has written to all CEO’s of sport reminding them of the importance of remaining vigilant at all times when dealing with children and young people. The CEO’s were also informed that as stated by Minister Griffin, in order to ensure the highest level of quality and consistency of delivery, all training for safeguarding awareness etc…. must be through the Sport Ireland training programmes. If NGBs have additional messages to deliver this can be achieved through the addition of a short sport specific module as a follow up to the Sport Ireland training.

Please note - you must have completed Safeguarding 1 and 2 before you complete Safeguarding 3.

Please ensure information provided for each attendee is correct for certification purposes.

Please note the n ame registered MUST be the name of the person to be certified.

Zoom link will be e-mailed to you 24 hours in advance.

** Tutors will not accept any attendee that signs into the course whilst in a car. No Refund will be issued **
