Optimising Learning & Development
Explore practical ways to improve learning events that drive workplace behaviour change while fostering a strong "learn-it-all" mindset.
This session will feature two presentations from members of the CIPD Ireland Eastern Region, bringing specialist expertise in learning and development.
Michael Luke Collins Assoc. CIPD will share practical insights from his extensive experience as an L&D facilitator, exploring how learning programmes can be designed and delivered to drive meaningful results for both organisations and their people.
He will present actionable takeaways that can be implemented to enhance outcomes of future L&D programmes that will have limited cost implications.
If you have experienced disappointment with the outcomes of previous learning events or L&D programmes and are keen to view the process through a new lens, this is an opportunity for you to do so.
If you are curious to hear new approaches to L&D that explore,
- How enable learners to recall learning content after learning events.
- How to empower learners to apply knowledge gained at learning events into their work environments.
- How to convert knowledge to skills, and skills to habits, to enable long-term behaviour change.
Then you need to attend this event.

Shane O Brien FCIPD, HR specialist & storyteller, studied HR at UCC and the University of Northampton and is passionate about organisational development, culture optimisation and restorative employee relations practices.
Shane will present insights on the following:
The “learn‑it‑all” mindset is central — growth is continuous and self‑directed.
When Learning happens:
- Through peer learning
- Through bite‑sized, on‑demand content
- Through autonomy and choice
“I’m a learn‑it‑all. I grow continuously. My career is fluid.”
Treating L&D interventions like a consumer product-what do people actually need and how do we design that into a product just for them and their learning journey
The learning passport: building up key learning moments and skills that enable someone to grow and become mobile in their organisations.
