Event description
This workshop presents results of stakeholder research on barriers and solutions for a circular packaging life-cycle.

About this event

About this event

The ReWrapped project has been researching the Irish packaging life-cycle by consulting the different stakeholders involved in packaging; packaging companies, food and non-food producers, and waste handlers. The goal of this research has been to identify barriers and potential solutions for a circular packaging economy. One of the barriers identified is a lack of communication between stakeholders. The ReWrapped project team therefore wants to present current results to stakeholders of the packaging industry. To engage in a conversation about how to change make the Irish packaging life-cycle circular.

Program of the workshop:

  • 10:00 Webinar Introduction and project overview (John Gallagher, TCD & ReWrapped)
  • 10:05 Waste and Recycling Policy (Jean Clark DECC)
  • 10:10 EPA and packaging reporting (Niamh Rogan EPA)
  • 10:15 Packaging waste targets and statistics (Craig Bullock, UCD & ReWrapped)
  • 10:25 Responses to producer survey (Nicolai Thorball, UCD & ReWrapped)
  • 10:45 Discussion session
  • 10:55 Session Close
