Who Should Attend: The Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Training Course) is ideal for maintenance personnel and any personnel required to undertake practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment.Course Duration: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PMContent:<ul><li>Legislation governing and Codes of Practice covering Portable Appliance Testing</li><li>Portable Appliance Testing theory</li><li>Visual inspection of portable appliances</li><li>Determining Class I and Class II portable electrical appliances</li><li>Testing Class I appliances, Testing Class II appliances, Testing an IEC lead, and Testing an extension lead</li><li>Understanding fuse rating</li><li>PASS / FAIL in relation to Portable Appliances</li><li>Labeling</li><li>Record keeping including portable appliance maintenance</li><li>Plug wiring and general information about how electricity works</li><li>Identification and labeling of Portable Appliances</li></ul>Course Objectives: Our Portable Appliance Testing PAT Testing Training Course is run in accordance with Regulation 81 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 states that an employer shall ensure, where appropriate, that a competent person should:<ul><li>Test portable equipment</li><li>Certify that portable electric appliances (including any cables and plugs) were, on the day of testing, safe and without risk to any persons coming into direct or indirect contact with the portable appliance.</li><li>Report any faults with portable appliances that have failed the test and prevent them from being put into use.</li></ul>The course is highly interactive and will use practical assessment and interactive learning throughout the course. Certification: A Guardian Emergency PAT Testing Training Certificate (3 years) is awarded to participants once they have successfully completed the course. The training is delivered onsite, at our premises, as face-to-face training. Prerequisites:Participants must be in good physical condition to perform various practical skills.
