Pause & Restore

Pause & Restore

Overview

Relax and unwind with nervous system regulating practices including acupuncture, somatic movement, sound therapy and gentle breathwork.

Pause & Restore – NADA Acupuncture, Nervous System Practices & Sound Bath

Take two hours out of your day to slow down, settle and restore.

Pause & Restore is a gentle, restorative workshop combining NADA ear acupuncture, nervous system practices, gentle breathwork and a 40-minute crystal singing bowl sound bath.

What to expect

We’ll begin with simple practices designed to help you settle into the body and shift out of the busyness of the day. These may include gentle movement, grounding, breath awareness and other nervous system regulation practices.

You’ll then experience the NADA protocol, a simple five-point ear acupuncture treatment traditionally used to support relaxation and wellbeing. The needles remain in place while you rest quietly, giving you time to simply be still.

We’ll finish with a 40-minute crystal singing bowl sound bath, where you can lie back, get comfortable and allow yourself to deeply rest.

The workshop includes

- NADA five-point ear acupuncture

- Gentle nervous system regulation practices

- Gentle movement and grounding

- Breathwork

- Quiet rest and relaxation

- 40-minute crystal singing bowl sound bath

No previous experience with acupuncture, breathwork, meditation or sound baths is required.

NADA Acupuncture – Important Information

The NADA protocol involves the insertion of five very fine, sterile, single-use acupuncture needles into specific points in each ear.

Please contact Catherine before booking if you:

  • Are pregnant or think you may be pregnant
  • Take anticoagulant/blood-thinning medication or have a bleeding disorder
  • Have an infection, wound, significant irritation or skin condition affecting the ears
  • Have a history of fainting or feeling unwell with needles
  • Have a significant medical condition and are unsure whether acupuncture is appropriate for you

If needles are unsuitable or you prefer not to receive acupuncture, please ask about whether a non-needle option is available.

Participation is always voluntary. You can decline or stop any practice at any stage.

Breathwork & Nervous System Practices

All breathwork used during this workshop will be gentle and non-intensive. There will be no prolonged breath-holding or forceful hyperventilation practices.

You will always be encouraged to breathe naturally if a particular practice feels uncomfortable.

Movement practices will also be gentle and can be adapted or omitted according to your needs.

Sound Bath

Sound baths may not be suitable for everyone. Please contact Catherine before booking if you have a condition that makes you particularly sensitive to sound, have sound-triggered seizures, or have any other concerns about participating.

You are free to move further away from the instruments, sit up or leave the sound portion at any time.

Practitioner Scope

Catherine is a student acupuncturist currently entering the third year of a three-year acupuncture diploma and is insured to practise acupuncture as a student.

She is also an experienced mindfulness and meditation teacher and sound healing practitioner.

This workshop is offered as a wellbeing and relaxation session. It is not intended to diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions and is not a substitute for assessment, diagnosis or treatment from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
