Description

This is an interactive learning workshop that will assist coaches and players to plan the pre-season workload both on and off the field. It will help emphasize how fitness can be built through game related activities which build the endurance base while at the same time will develop the key playing capacities. This workshop is to provide coaches with the tools to plan and implement a Pre-Season Fitness Training Programme. This will include

  • Understanding the demand of GAA Sports- IE- agility balance, speed, power, etc
  • The different energy systems used
  • Learning about the major components of physical fitness.
  • What tests to use and interpreting the results of these tests.
  • Provide different activities/training to improve fitness goals

The course is primarily aimed at coaches of minor & adult teams (U13 & Older). Coaches of all teams are of course welcome.
