About this event
Poetry on the Edge brings professional writers to Ballina for school and community engagement. The aim of the project is to make creative writing and literarture accessible for a variety of audiences.
Poet Alice Kinsella will faciliate a two part poetry workshop over two evenings:
Weds 13th October 7pm - Part 1
Thurs 14th October 7pm - Part 2
Alice Kinsella's poetry has appeared in Banshee, The Irish Times, Poetry Ireland Review, The North, and Multipoetry Project Krakow, among others. She holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin, and a First-Class honours Masters in Writing from NUI, Galway.
Her work has been translated into Polish, Arabic, and Greek. She is the editor of Empty House (Doire Press, 2021), an anthology of creative writing on the climate crisis. Kinsella received Words Ireland mentoring to work on her first full length collection, which she is currently developing. She lives on the west coast of Ireland with her family.
This booking is for both Part 1 and Part 2 of Alice Kinsella's workshop.
It also includes admission to Poetry on the Edge: Readings which takes place Friday 15th October at 9:30pm in the Shambles Bar, Ballina Manor Hotel.
