About this event

  • 7 hours 30 minutes

Conferences are as much a part of Pride as the parade itself. In fact, it was at a conference on the second of November, 1969 that the decision was made to have a march each year on the last Saturday of June. Our Pride At Work conference days bring together leaders from the LGBTQ+ community sector, employers and politicians to discuss the issues facing LGBTQ+ people in society and explore ways to protect and advance LGBTQ+ rights and foster meaningful relationships between our community, corporate and statutory partners.

Our 2024 Pride At Work conference day will take place on Monday May 20th in the Radisson Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8.

2.15pm From Allyship to Collaboration

Allyship has played a major role in creating more inclusive workplaces where people from marginalised communities can not only feel a sense of belonging but also have the opportunity to thrive. However, at what point do we move from allyship, where we see a group as needing support, to collaboration, where we see them as equal partners? In this session we will consider the difference between allyship and collaboration and why now is the time to take that next step in our DEI journey.

Session chair: Conor Buckley, Founder of Human Collective.
