Progression
Premier screening of the documentary 'Progression' about Traveller's experience of education in Ireland, followed by a discussion.
‘Progression’ tells the stories of Irish Travellers and their experiences of education in Ireland. Different generations of Travellers tell their stories, positive and negative, of their school days. From a time when Traveller children were segregated in classrooms, we see how the situation has progressed and improved over time. We will also hear of challenges that still exist today and areas where there is still room for improvement. And we will hear of inspiring Traveller women who have progressed to the highest level of educational achievement and their message for young Travellers today. ‘Progression’ has been produced by Cork Community Television in collaboration with members of the Traveller Visibility Group.
