This experience combines the expressive power of creative writing with the restorative practice of sound to unlock inner wisdom and clarity

This experience combines the expressive power of creative writing with the restorative practice of sound healing to unlock inner wisdom and clarity.

Part 1: Creative Writing Workshop

In this session, Lorraine focuses on "intuitive flow" and "writing for wellness" to bypass the inner critic.

  • Techniques: Participants engage in unedited stream-of-consciousness writing and sensory-based prompts to explore their inner landscape.
  • Objectives: The goal is to move past creative blocks, improve concentration, and access a state of "flow" where thoughts transition effortlessly to the page.
  • Atmosphere: Exercises are designed to be low-pressure and non-judgmental, suitable for all skill levels from beginners to experienced writers.

Part 2: Immersive Meditative Soundbath

Following the writing, participants transition into a deeply restorative sonic journey.

  • Sonic Environment: Michaela uses specialised instruments, such as Himalayan or crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and drums—to create healing frequencies.
  • Biological Impact: These vibrations can shift brainwaves from active "beta" states to relaxed "alpha" or "theta" states, associated with deep meditation and enhanced creativity.
  • Restoration: Participants typically lie down in a comfortable space to "bathe" in sound, which helps reduce cortisol levels, lower blood pressure, and release emotional blockages.

Benefits of the Combination

  • Subconscious Insight: Writing before a soundbath opens a channel for inner wisdom, while the subsequent sound meditation provides fertile ground for new insights to arise.
  • Holistic Wellness: The pairing reduces stress and anxiety by simultaneously engaging the mind in creative expression and the body in physical relaxation.

What to Bring

  • Essentials: A notebook or journal and your favorite pen.
  • Comfort: A yoga mat, blanket, and cushion or bolster for the soundbath.
  • Optional: Eye pillows or an extra layer of warm clothing/socks to stay cozy during the meditation.
