Apartheid-Free Arts is a movement of artists, arts workers, arts organisations, venues and festivals on the island of Ireland committed to an apartheid-free Palestine and apartheid-free arts everywhere.
We held an online information session on Weds 6th March 2024 and we had over 150 art workers in attendance. We had about 15 speakers and we covered the following topics:
- Live, video and audio testimonies from Palestinian artists in Gaza and the West Bank
- Israeli Apartheid
- Art-washing - the complicity of arts & culture in the normalisation of apartheid and genocide
- A Call to action (led by Palestinian artists)
- Actions to take - Boycott, Protest, Advocacy, including Apartheid-Free Zones
- Why the arts been silent on Palestine, and how to change it
- Union actions
- Creative resistance
- How we’ll mobilise with Apartheid-Free Arts
We are offering this retrospective ticket so that you can contribute to paying a speaker fee to the theatre artist who spoke to us live from Gaza so that we can make a practical contribution to his well being and that of his family.
