Our tour of galleries around the Parnell Square area will begin at 12 noon on Saturday 11 May, appropriately enough, on the square itself at Hillsboro Fine Art.
Hillsboro Fine Art has hosted first solo exhibitions in Ireland by many renowned international artists including Jannis Kounellis, Larry Poons, Alan Davie, Gillian Ayres, Anthony Caro, Enzo Cucchi, Sandro Chia, John Hoyland, Alex Katz, Markus Lüpertz and Robert Motherwell.
Hillsboro's current group show, Down to Earth - Irish Artists and their environment, includes work from David Crone RHA and Eithne Jordan RHA.
The HORSE Gallery is an artist run contemporary art gallery just off Dorset Street in Dublin 1. The gallery aims to provide a platform for both underrepresented and established artmakers from all backgrounds to explore the boundaries of contemporary art.
The HORSE Gallery has just opened its latest exhibition, Mechanised & Manufactured Interiors: Hoarder’s Folly (2008-2???), Alan S. Tofighi’s second solo-show at the gallery: a presentation of new sculptures, paintings, video and photographs.
French-born Olivier Cornet first opened his gallery in Temple Bar back in 2012. Now based on Great Denmark Street, the gallery's current exhibition, What do we want?, is a group show in response to the increasingly dangerous geo-political situation in the world today. It features work by Jill Gibbon, Eoin Mac Lochlainn, Tom Molloy and Gail Ritchie.
