RHA Gallery’s Hennessy Lost Friday returns for an Unforgettable Summer Night of Colour, Creativity and Cocktails

Tickets €20 (include two complimentary Hennessy cocktails).

Following its March sell-out success, RHA’s Hennessy Lost Fridays gets set to return for the summer installment of this special night taking place on Friday 7th July from 7.45pm to late. The stunning surrounds of the RHA Gallery will showcase a mix of Ireland’s most cutting edge and dynamic artists, musicians, and creatives.

As ever, RHA Hennessy Lost Friday presents acts that are currently making waves in the Irish music scene. On the night experience live performances from upbeat, electro-pop band Ships who have just released their debut album Precession to huge critical acclaim. With an accomplished sound that encompasses an array of synth-pop, disco and 80’s electronica influences, Ships are one of the most talked about Irish bands this year. Experimental electronic project Wastefellow, aka producer Diolmhain Ingram Roche will also perform. Singing over beats stitched together from a grab bag of influences, his glitchy, looped tracks are formed from distorting familiar sounds and samples until they take on entirely new shapes. And finally throughout the night the excellent DJ Hula Hoop will be mixing tracks between bands and ending the night with a big party vibe that’s sure to get everyone up dancing!

It doesn’t end there! Arrive early and enjoy a walking tour of this summer’s impressive RHA Annual Exhibition with Director Patrick T. Murphy. Exhibiting a vast array of artworks from painting, drawing, sculpture to print, photography and installation based work there’s something for everyone in this show. Being in an art gallery, why not get some free, intricate body or face art done by the fabulous Dublin Body Painting Jam? Also artist Colm Mac Athlaoich will be doing free caricatures for people to take home or why not give it a go yourself as on the hour every hour he will be giving 15 minute mini-classes on how to draw caricatures! If digital art is more your thing, have the chance to immerse yourself in the world of virtual reality. Watch as an artist creates a 3D artwork using Google’s Tilt Brush and have the chance to step in and create your very own piece of art.

Also on the night Hennessy unveils its latest Hennessy Very Special Limited Edition bottle and announces the groundbreaking artist who designed it. Last year Hennessy invited tattoo artist Scott Campbell, one of the most popular and most celebrated tattoo artists on the planet, to create his bottle. Previous artists Hennessy has worked with include Kaws, Futura, Os Gemeos, Shepard Fairey and Ryan McGinness.

Throughout the night Hennessy’s expert mixologists will create bespoke Hennessy cocktails, as well as hosting cocktail masterclasses. Cocktails include Hennessy & Ginger and Hennessy Sidecar. Hennessy was the first spirit to identify ginger as the perfect accompaniment, with the spice of ginger ale bringing out the natural spice of the world’s finest cognac. To keep people’s hunger at bay, we will be serving up scrumptious grub on our summer-eve patio throughout the night.

This promises to be another night of entertainment and fun all under the roof of the RHA Gallery!

This event is strictly over 21s.
